Job Description :
SUMMARY
This position provides enrollment services for Behavioral Health clients to ensure all eligible clients are enrolled in Medicaid and other insurance programs during the course of their treatment and provides coordination of care services to assist clients in accessing programs and services to achieve the goals of their treatment plans.
JOB DUTIES
Monitor all new Behavioral Health intakes to ensure clients are enrolled in Medicaid and other insurance programs for which they are eligible.
Assist clients with the enrollment process and ensure their enrollment continues throughout the course of their treatment.
Provide a wide variety of case management duties as directed by the Clinic Coordinator and/or Director to assist clients in achieving the goals of their treatment plans.
Provide psych-educational services to clients as directed.
Maintain updated information on the availability of substance abuse and mental health inpatient treatment beds.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with intake workers at inpatient treatment programs to facilitate the referral process.
Provide and/or arrange transportation for clients to access programs and services as appropriate.
Perform client intakes, billing service, and other functions for the Behavioral Health Department in a backup role as needed and appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to utilize a trauma sensitive approach to interacting with clients.
Computer literate and ability to operate various data entry programs.
Ability to document case management services in electronic health record systems according to Medicaid standards and timeframes.
Willing to participate in cross-training to provide other functions and services for the department.
Strong understanding and sensitivity to Alaska Native culture and lifestyle, with demonstrated experience working effectively with Alaska Native population.
Strong written, analytical, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Effective oral and written communications skills with sensitivity to lifestyles of targeted participants.
Ability to keep accurate records and produce timely and accurate written reports.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as required for HIPAA, other regulations and organization matters.
Ability to learn and apply program/agency operating policies and procedures.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, including outside contacts.
Ability to work independently as well as with teams.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year experience working with Behavioral Health clients.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associates Degree in the Behavioral Health field
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
