Job Description :
SUMMARY

This position provides administrative and technical support to the organization in several phases of human resources. Works as part of the HR Department team with emphasis in recruitment/talent search for Fairbanks Native Association in Behavioral Health Services (BHS), Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Cultural Services (CS).

JOB DUTIES

Attends and represents the organization at recruiting events such as job fairs, conferences, and seminars. Researches and recommends new and innovative methods for talent searches
Creates, documents, and accounts for recruitment cycle activity including: requisition creation, internal job posting, external job postings on print and social media, assisting potential candidates with application entry
Creates, documents, and accounts for onboarding activity including: offer letters, position filled notification letters, background checks, fingerprinting, orientation scheduling, and program transition
Responsible for operational and technical personnel duties to include: entering HRIS data, assisting employees and public with personnel information, interpreting human resources policies and procedures, and participating in employee relations events
Presents information during new hire orientation and assists new employees with documentation requirements
Maintains confidential personnel files including: creating new files, updating existing files, and archiving when necessary
Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains current forms and documents as required
Assists with generating and distributing reports for the HR department, including monthly performance evaluation notices, longevity reports, and other pertinent HR reporting as needed
Greets employees, applicants, or guests as needed and answers correspondence
Composes letters, memos and other correspondence for program, as needed
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures
Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and requirements
Knowledge of customer service concepts and practices
Knowledge of training, counseling, and arbitration techniques
Knowledge of recruitment and staffing processes
Skill in operating personal computer utilizing a variety of computer software
Skill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines
Skill in oral and written communication
Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees

Ability to work independently as well as with teams

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)

Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or related discipline; OR
Associate’s degree in HR Management or related discipline, and two (2) years HR management experience involving recruitment, employee relations, and/or other HR Management activity; OR
Four (4) years of HR Management experience involving recruitment, employee relations, and/or other HR Management activity

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)

Six (6) years of HR Management experience including recruitment, employee relations, and/or other HR management activity
HRCI Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior PHR (SPHR), Society of Human Resources Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or Senior Professional (SHRM-SCP)
