Technical Support jobs at Shell are essential to the ongoing success of the company. As Electrical Maintenance Officer, you will be part of a growing team in charge of the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of our global projects and assets.
As part of our Shell Technical Support team, you will be right at the front line of the company’s activities, be it in our oil refineries, our petrochemical plants, onshore and offshore production fields, and other operations.
What’s the role?
As Assoc. Electrical Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of power generation, grid power import and distribution system functions.
Further accountabilities are as follows:
Maintain grid switch yard, gas turbine generation, substations and HV/LV switchgears.
Obtain good knowledge and practical experience of load shedding implementation schemes, PLC based power management systems, Siprotech & Simocode relays, Gas Turbine Generators, DCS interfaces, HV switch gears, Breakers, UPS Systems, Grid Power Import, Relay Co-ordination and Emergency Power Systems.
Maintain grid islanding schemes, relay testing, auto changeovers of GTG – Grid, UPS Power Supply systems and Emergency power systems
Acquire Skill level for field electrical assets like HV/LV switchboards & Motors, transformers, Rectifier and UPS, Battery and battery chargers, Protection relays, earthing, lighting and heaters, Cathodic protection systems etc.
Execute preventive and pro-active maintenances if electrical systems like bus bar maintenance, generator maintenance, major overhaul of motors, complying with high standards of Quality & HSE.
Execute online & offline condition monitoring / inspection on substations and field electrical equipment’s / components.
Troubleshoot & repair of substation and field electrical equipment’s / components.
Develop and/or review Procedures / Method statements for routine and non-electrical planned and modification types of jobs.
Ensure work is carried out in accordance with Shell Group’s HSE policy and procedures.
Carryout spare part codification and inspection for electrical systems.
Carryout competency assessment for contractor and supervise contractor activities.
Perform HSE Critical Task
Ensure HSSE performance of diverse cultured contractors thru engagements, feedback and motivation.
Frequent maintenance of Aging Asset as well as troubleshooting and providing quick solution.
Perform problem solving under minimum supervision as business demands keep on changing.
Understand the commercial impact of business delays and escalate appropriately for additional support.
What we need from you?
Diploma in Electrical Engineering from reputed college/university.
Minimum of 8-10 years’ work experience in oil and gas industries with 6 years supervisory experience.
Knowledge level on PLCs, Smart relays, protection schemes and state-of-art substations.
Valid Electrical Supervisor’s license from relevant government authority.
Good Interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
Knowledge of English (must) and other Indian languages Gujarati / Hindi (preferable).
