Overview:
Element has an opportunity for a Chemist to join our growing team in Mumbai. This is a great opportunity to develop your professional career within a Global TIC business.
The successful candidate for this role will be responsible for assisting the Laboratory Manager in managing technical perspective of Chemistry operations. This position is based in Ghatkopar West , Mumbai , India.
Responsibilities:
Provide expert knowledge and support to the chemistry Department
Operate, calibrate and oversee ICP / AAS / GC operations
Perform general inorganic chemistry testing, primarily with metal / water samples
perform calibration and calculations on statistical methods
Train and mentor junior staff
Handle and respond to customer queries
Apply and use international methods such as ASTM, BS and APHA etc.
Apply lab quality management system through ISO 17025 standards and total quality management
Skills / Qualifications:
Graduation in Chemistry with 3-5 year experience as food / water chemist within a commercial testing laboratory or equivalent
Hands-on experience of PH Meter, UV visible Spectro Photo Meter, ICP-OES
Familiarilty with all methods of wet analysis and test data validation methods
Thorough knowledge of IS, ASTM and ISO methods and material specifications
Thorough knowledge of NABL requirements-preferably with exposure to minimum two NABL audits
Ability to establish root cause analysis of incorrect data
Experience in the analysis of water samples
Teamwork and effective communication
Ability to prioritise and manage a number of projects and/or work streams simultaneously
Able to read, write and speak English and Marathi / Hindi
