Description:
JPMorgan Chase may incur principal risk when it makes equity or equity-like investments. Principal Investments are made using JPMC’s capital, typically representing an ownership or junior capital position (mainly private equity, tax equity and junior debt capital such as mezzanine loans). Principal Investments have unique risk (Principal Risks) due to their illiquidity, lack of market transparency, and their “first loss” or junior capital status. Principal Investments are typically made with a tenor consistent with a longer-term investment objective and the associated risks are governed under the Principal Risk Policy.
Principal Risk Middle Office & Reporting team is involved in managing risk data and production of reports used by Principal Risk Management to monitor and manage the Firm’s risk profile of Principal Investments. The team provides support for limit utilization management, stress testing, client / product on-boarding into risk infrastructure, exposure / stress variance analysis, and process / system improvement projects related to Principal Investing.
Principal Risk Middle Office & Reporting professionals will have the opportunity to learn about the businesses and risks that are components of Principal Risk (eg: Private equity , Tax Oriented Investments , Mezzanine Loans etc.)
Roles and Responsibilities:

Perform regular and ad-hoc reporting / presentations to Risk Managers and Senior Managers on principal risk data , including but not limited to exposures, limits, and stress analysis across various asset classes.
Monitor limits and report limit violations of statistical and non-statistical exposures for principal investing businesses. Manage limit utilization processing and approval workflows.
Aggregate and analyze the Principal Risk exposures and data attribute changes for weekly risk meetings and monthly risk reporting packages
Understand the reason behind risk attribute changes ,analyze the impacts and present to risk managers as applicable
Maintain data quality in the aggregation systems and utilize system tools to control accuracy of the reported results
Manage ,maintain and apply stress reference data like shocks ,tenors ,mappings to cater relevant risk reporting requests
Understand controls/policies that are in place and execute projects to enhance the control environment.
Provide support and testing for the Principal Risk Infrastructure project
Optimize Report production processes to align with Firmwide strategic goals.
Effectively collaborate with business partners (including Risk business management, reference data teams, product controllers/finance, and technology) to investigate variances and resolve data quality exception.
Collaborate with technology and other stakeholders on systems, process improvements, and planned releases.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate possesses the following skills:

Candidate with 5 years prior experience with risk, whether in a management, reporting, or control capacity.
Knowledge of risk principles, credit or market risk products is a plus.
Strong analytical and investigative problem solving abilities.
A self-starter who is organized and consistently meets deliverables.
Detail oriented with good understanding of financial terminology/principles.
Excellent relationship building skills to work with colleagues across multiple groups’ to obtain. relevant information for understanding breaks and managing exceptions appropriately.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks, and bring tasks to complete closure.
Strong knowledge of MS Office.
Knowledge of Tableau is a plus
CFA or FRM certification are a plus
