Your Role and Responsibilities
Act independently to lead every phase of a research project (scoping, planning, executing, synthesizing, and reporting) – creating and socializing the appropriate artifacts along the way to inform business results and product strategy
Guide business goals to align with user needs and translate business requirements into research objectives
Partner with a multidisciplinary team (UX design, product management, and development) to identify research projects
Mentor and facilitate the work of more junior design researchers
Scope and select the best approach to address research project needs within allotted timeline
Develop study designs, participant screeners, and discussion guides
Source research participants to meet screening criteria
Conduct and synthesize research
Create and share actionable research outcomes that inform business results and product strategy
Present recommendations and methodologies to executive stakeholders
Be an active member of the design research practice – collaborating with other researchers to determine and refine research best practices, methods, tools, processes, and team standards.
Manage a wide variety of stakeholders, such as UX designers, content designers, developers, product owners, across our worldwide teams
Provide research expertise and leadership when collaborating with other disciplines (UX designers, content designers, developers, product owners, offering managers etc.) across our worldwide teams

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Comfort working in a dynamic, team-based environment
Ability to develop a well-crafted research plan with clear research objectives
Ability to select and apply a variety of design research methodologies, and articulate why you chose a particular methodology for a particular project
Translate user insights into actionable recommendations for the design and development teams
Deliver an easy-to-follow, well-crafted research reports and presentations that document the background, objectives, method, key summary, findings and implications for the product
Advocate for research designed to move product and customer outcomes forward
Ability to manage multiple tracks of work
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
At least six years of demonstrated experience conducting user and design research
Proven record of delivering exceptional solutions that address customers’ most challenging business problems and opportunities
Demonstrated success turning generative and evaluative research insights into actionable design recommendations
Experience with agile practices and processes. You’re not afraid to try out new research approaches, reflect on experiences and iterate for continuous improvement
Portfolio of previous work must be presented.
