Main purpose of job:
To carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) with multi-skilled technical workforce. Responsible for various maintenance tasks at BHC office/compound, residential properties on and off compound including the day to day work requests and projects.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?
To work in team to carry out statutory planned preventive maintenance(Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly). Will be responsible for performing multiple maintenance tasks for BHC office and residential properties which will include plumbing, electrical work, fire alarm system, air purifier system, water heaters (or Solar system), Legionella checks/inspection, disinfection, fogging, pest control, etc. (60%)
Inspection of Legionella in UG & OH water tanks, water heater (solar system), descaling & disinfection of shower, maintenance of water urinal (unused outlets & dead legs), grease trap & garden, filter service and to ensure compliance with UK standards. (10%)
Job holder must have knowledge of inspection and testing of fire detection & fire alarm system. To carry out the routine preventive maintenance of air purifiers, fresh air units, white goods, filter cleaning of washing machine & tumble dryer and power distribution system including, stabilizer /invertor, motors & starter`s panel, etc. (10%)
To execute work requests within SLA based on the nature of the work and as per priority. To assist in refurbishment work when required which includes checking plumbing, basic carpentry, water heaters (or solar system) fixtures and facilities as per BHC norms before handing over. (10%)
The job holder will also be responsible for maintaining all technical records & files and complete the logbooks in English. (5%)
To undertake additional duties requested by the line manager or head of department. (5%)
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
We are looking for a good skilled technician having ITI qualification with 2 year experience of any trade.
At least 5 year experience of multiple skill task.
Language: (Hindi & English)
Level of language required: Good & Basic
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Must have background of understanding for testing and maintenance of electrical equipment, panels and fixtures.
Must have background of understanding for testing and maintenance of fire safety equipment.
Background of basic understanding of plumbing, carpentry, air purification equipment, water heaters (or solar system).
Candidate with excellent problem solving ability.
Identify hazard defects, solve problems of domestic & office appliances during the PPM work.
Should be flexible to carry out standby duties after office hours.
Able to work on ladders, scaffolders, and roof to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixture.
The ability to communicate clearly and confidently with a range of people, both on the phone and face-to-face in Hindi and understand basic English.

For British High Commission (BHC) candidates, the Local Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply.
For other than BHC candidates, salary will be INR 24,523 per month plus 12% provident fund and 6% Superannuation Fund.

Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary may have their salaries reduced by the equivalent local income tax amount.
Please note – Provident Fund Transfer in and out from EPFO is not possible as BHC PF is managed by a private PF trust governed by Indian Income Tax Act, 1961. The staff still has the option to transfer out and in from a privately held PF trust which are not governed by EPFO.
