Exeter is looking for Pre Editors with a meticulous approach to their work and an eye for detail, the ability to maintain high-quality work while meeting tight deadlines and a love of and feel for the English language. The ideal candidate should have an inquisitive mind and good concentration – to focus on texts that may be lengthy or dull, be able to judge when to apply the publisher house styles and when not to, use a tactful approach when dealing with authors and have the ability to retain the author’s voice after editing
Requirements
Required skills:
Experience in Pre-editing in books and journals
Strong writing/editing/proofreading skills and an excellent portfolio
Hands on experience with MS Office and InDesign, Photoshop or other publishing tools
Strong verbal and written communication skills
An eye for detail along with critical thinking
Prioritizing and multitasking
