Position Overview:
We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our Product Management team. In this role, you’ll help customers understand how our products can meet their business requirements. You’ll gain a clear understanding of users’ goals and create content that ensures a hassle-free experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Actively engage with customers to find out how they use our product and what they need help with
Create and maintain content that helps users complete their tasks, understand concepts, and get answers to their questions
Work closely with product managers, review specs and prototypes, and interact with the software to learn how features work
Take a proactive approach to understand the customer’s business problems and their users
Constantly monitor customers usage and feedback and refine the content accordingly
Organize content so answers are easy to find
Consistently apply style and process guidelines
Take ownership and manage the complete process for each document, including authoring, editing, review, testing, and delivery
Ensure documentation accuracy by verifying functionality in development builds
Keep up to date on design changes throughout the development process
Look for other avenues to assist customers beyond traditional product documentation
Qualifications:
5+ years experience writing user documentation for software products
Technical Communication degree or equivalent
Excellent communication skills, including a concise and direct writing style
Experience building and proactively maintaining content for customer-facing portals
Can provide self-edited samples that demonstrate all of the above
Experience working in a software development environment
HTML coding skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Experience working with customers to understand their business requirements
Flexibility suited to an iterative development process
