[Remote] Linux OS Developer Description
Our client in the information technology industry is looking for a Linux Developer to add to their growing team in the United States. You will be responsible for developing operating systems, providing support for existing products, and introducing new technologies/products as part of an established and innovative team. Our client needs an individual with at least 8 years of experience in the Linux kernel, successful with asynchronous and parallel programming, and familiar with open-source communities. To succeed in this role, you should also have written device drivers or developed in relevant Linux kernel subsystems (virtual memory management, scheduler, filesystems, network stack). If you are looking for an opportunity to be part of developing next-generation products, where your contributions are recognized both inside and outside of the company, this could be a great fit for you.
[Remote] Linux OS Developer Responsibilities
Design and develop code inside Linux (C language)
Provide remote support for users (diagnosis and debugging)
Maintain connections with open-source communities
Deliver status reports for projects in process
Collaborate with internal OS team
[Remote] Linux OS Developer Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science required
8+ years of UNIX / Linux OS experience required
5+ years of development in Linux subsystems required
Experience with version control, source code management, and project-tracking software required
Strong understanding of sharing protocols required
