ATTENTION ALASKA RESIDENTS ONLY!The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Statewide Administrative Services is looking for a Stock & Parts Services 1 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!Our organization, mission, and culture: DOT&PF’s mission is to “Keep Alaska moving through service and infastructure.” Statewide Administrative Services mission is to “Support the department’s operations with quality administration.” The work of this position is essential in supporting and providing required materials and/or services to sections throughout the Department.The working environment you can expect: You will work in a warehouse at the Anchorage International Airport at 4000 Aircraft Drive. Most of your time will be spent in the warehouse purchasing inventory and non-inventory items, interacting with persons on many levels and in wide ranging circumstances.The benefits of joining our team: Statewide Administrative Services offers opportunities for training and career advancement. This position has an opportunity to work with all types of personalities while keeping ultimate customers’ service objective in mind.What you will be doing: This position maintains, issues, and replenishes warehouse inventory items. Duties involve the use of the Integrated Resource Information System, IRIS. Incumbent responds to direct inventory Stock Requests and Open Market purchase requests; actively monitors stock requests in IRIS for proactive handling of inventory orders and restocking needs; utilizes Inventory Management Reports to assess stocking levels based on ordering trends. This position also schedules the warehouse daily delivery route and dispatches.Duties will include the following abilities: To handle/transport heavy items up to 75 lbs on a routine basis.To use computers, printers, copiers, and other peripherals.To use computer-based programs and software.Who we are looking for: Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with the core competencies of: Teamwork and collaborationProfessionalism and punctualityWork Ethic and self-motivationAbility to perform under tight deadlinesAfter hire, the ability to obtain State of Alaska Purchasing Certification and DOT Delegation, Forklift Operator Certification, 49 CFR and IATA Haz-Mat Shipping Certification
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
High school diploma or the equivalent;ANDOne year of cumulative experience that includes any combination of providing customer or personal services; receiving, prioritizing, and processing customer requests; purchasing goods or services on behalf of a business or organization; receiving, organizing, and stocking items for sale or supply; operating manual and mechanized equipment to load/unload, and move supplies, equipment, parts, tools, and/or materials; preparing and delivering or shipping goods; operating, maintaining, or repairing vehicles, equipment, or buildings/facilities sufficient to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.Special Note: Some positions require expertise in a particular area of parts and supply work (e.g., automotive or construction-related parts services). Recruitment and selection for these positions will be from among only those referrals who have the appropriate background and experience relevant to the specialty field defined in the predominant responsibilities of the position.Some positions in this class require the incumbent to operate motor vehicles. Such positions require that the applicant possess a regular driver’s license and be 18 years of age or older prior to appointment.Some positions in this class require the incumbent possess a commercial driver’s license, which may also require hazardous materials endorsements. Incumbents of positions that require a commercial driver’s license are subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with federal regulations.”High school diploma equivalent” means one of the following: 1) a G.E.D.; 2) completion of any basic adult education course equivalent to 480 class hours (16 weeks at 30 course hours per week); 3) acceptance in full standing by an accredited college or university; 4) highest grade of school completed plus an amount of paid or volunteer experience that totals 12 years and includes basic clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs.
