Apple is looking for a lead SAN/NAS Storage Administrator to join our growing GIO team to support Apple’s Storage Infrastructure partnering with The Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) team. IS&T’s Global Infrastructure Operations (GIO) provides architecture, planning, management, and maintenance of Apple’s global networks and computing systems. GIO delivers world-class information technology infrastructure from Apple’s data and voice networks, datacenters hosting computing systems to each Mac or IOS device and everything in between. We are currently looking for a highly motivated, technically savvy, customer focussed Storage Support Administrator to join the GIO Storage team supporting Apple’s global Storage infrastructure. This is a fast paced and highly demanding environment. If you have a strong passion to work in a growing environment of innovation while exuding deep collaboration skills, this position is for you. This individual will be responsible for day-to-day management of the SAN/NAS Storage infrastructure. Selected candidate will also provide Lead support to the GIO Jr. members, overseeing activities administering, operation and implementing various Storage solutions. They will also be responsible for incident management as it relates to the SAN/NAS Storage infrastructure and performing advanced troubleshooting of complex system issues, working with varies Storage vendors in timely and efficient manner to prevent business impacts.
Key Qualifications
Interpersonal communication and customer-service skills
Strong Experience with administration of various SAN and NAS storage architectures such as Hitachi , Pure, EMC/PowerFlex, Brocade switches, EMC/Isilon , NetApp FAS/E-Series, Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance.
Able to effectively navigate various OS such as Linux RedHat/OEL, IBM AIX, Solaris, Windows.
Experience with LAN/WAN networking schemes such as DNS, ACLs, TCP/IP and OSI models
Experience with DevOps scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, Bash etc. are desirable.
Experience with ticketing system tool such as ServiceDesk
Competency in Major Incident Management
Knowledge of using system monitoring/alerting tools.
Understanding of large scale enterprise IT infrastructures and corresponding dependencies
Able to proficiently coordinate and troubleshoot with internal and external partners within a large scale enterprise
Experience evaluating & managing outages to business critical infrastructure
Able to meet service-level agreement (SLA) deadlines and work within a fast paced environment without impacting services.
Ability to thrive under pressure and navigate ambiguous situations.
Description
As a Storage Systems’ Administrator working with our operations and Engineering teams, you will be responsible for the maintenance, monitoring and administration of our Apple Storage Infrastructure platforms. This position requires additional focus on supporting the needs of large project deployments under tight timelines. As a storage administrator, you will also be responsible to mentor and train our Jr. storage administrators and provide 24/7 on call support as needed.
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in IT or equivalent

Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
Able to prioritise tasks and collaborate with various stakeholders
Enjoy working hands-on in a lab environment to conduct system installation, configuration and design validation
